Writer @ Latterly

Δημοσιεύθηκε στις 22 Νοεμβρίου 2014

Latterly, an online magazine for narrative journalism, is looking for compelling stories about people -- that is, their thoughts and actions in the context of a plot. In particular, we're a little short on stories from outside the United States, but we accept pitches and submissions from anywhere. You can learn more about us here and find our first issue on our website.

More guidelines:

* We only want works of reported journalism that employ elements of narrative storytelling (plot, character development, etc.). We are not interested in fiction, poetry or personal essays.
* Your pitch should convey the basic storyline and elucidate what's at stake for the main characters in your story.
* Our readership is global. Even though we encourage "local" stories, consider whether your story idea has universal interest. (We use American English, but also the metric system.)
* You do not need to be a professional journalist to write for Latterly. But you do need to adhere rigidly to journalistic principles, including fairness, accuracy and transparency.
* If your story is similar to another you've written or read, let us know. It helps us to see what you envision for the piece.
* We are not hiring. Right now, we just want stories.

Although we'd like to respond to everyone, we regret we don't have the resources yet. We will acknowledge receipt of your email, however; so if you don't hear anything within a week, try sending it again.

Please send pitches and submissions to the e-mail address below.
