I need a Web developer for an ongoing project. I've created a Web app currently used by thousands of people a month, and although I've been able to mostly carry the entire load on my own, I can't keep it up forever. There isn't a huge amount of work to be done at the moment, so this is a great opportunity for someone to fill a short-term gap in their schedule, or even a hungry student looking for some experience. This gig is fairly short-term and should only last a couple of weeks.
Your biggest strengths should be with developing using HTML/CSS/JS. Especially with jQuery, as that's used heavily in the front end.
You should also have experience with AJAX (I don't mean the cleanser), consuming and producingXML and JSON.
You should have basic design skills and be able to take a rough sketch and produce a mockup.
You have your own computer, on which is installed your favourite image editor and your favouritevector graphics editor. That means Photoshop and Illustrator, or reasonable alternatives. Irrespective of what OS this computer runs, you should also be able to test on IE -- which means access to Windows -- because we both know what a PITA Internet Explorer can be.
If you happen to already have experience with Subversion and/or Ant, that's great. If you don't, I'll teach you what you need to know to get your job done. (And more, if you're really interested.) You can leave the backend work up to me (which is actually Java/Tomcat).
You're willing and able to work as an independent contractor. And you have examples of your work you can show me. Bonus points for repped Stack Overflow/Stack Exchange users, and/or for those with a portfolio. In other words, give me some way I can check you out. A list of references would be good.
