Laravel4 Developer needed to help build Game Development site @ Photon Storm Ltd

Δημοσιεύθηκε στις 22 Ιουλίου 2014

Photon Storm Ltd. are a UK based HTML5 game development company. We've been at the forefront of HTML5 game development for years, championing its cause well before it became "cool". Our open source game framework Phaser is the top-ranked JavaScript game framework on github and is used by thousands of developers world-wide, who have created hundreds of great games with it.

Up until now our site has consisted of a single page, but we've spent a good amount of time redesign it and preparing it for all of the new content we've got planned. We have been building it in-house in laravel4 and while progress is good, we need to move faster. That is where you'd come in.

We need someone who is fully adept at working with laravel4 and associated packages. One of your first tasks will be to help create a User Management system, so users can sign-up (either via email or oAuth, esp. github/twitter), login, set a basic profile and have roles and permissions associated with their user type. After this will be integration with our Stripe account to allow users to purchase items sold directly from the site.

These are the priority areas, but there are lots more beyond this - such as helping us get our online code editor fully functional, helping build our games showcase browser and more.

We have a very specific way of building the site that is fitted around our in-house workflow. It's mostly all static content driven using MarkDown files with no database. We're not trying to recreate WordPress here and there will be no overly complex admin areas needed.

This is a remote work position only. Work will be committed to a shared repository and you'll be expected to be available for IM based catch-ups. You will have built many web sites in the past and have demonstrable experience.

We will listen to and respond to your suggestions and feedback, you will not just be a "resource" in our eyes.

We'll treat you professionally and expect the same in return. No "going dark" on us for no reason please.

If you're interested in helping shape one of the most popular open source game frameworks out there then please get in touch!
