Car Gadget Writer @ Wirecutter

Δημοσιεύθηκε στις 03 Απριλίου 2015

We're looking for an experienced automotive accessory/gadget reviewer to help expand our coverage of car-related gadgets. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years' experience in reviewing products, a passion for cars, and a basic understanding of car maintenance. You must own or have access to a car for testing purposes. Audio/imaging review experience a plus, as there will be some overlap (car stereos, dash cameras, Bluetooth kits, etc). This is a freelance writing and reporting gig and you should be a full time professional freelancer with 1-2 weeks a month to dedicate to pieces for us on these topics. Please apply with "Car gadget writer" in the subject line.

-----

Working at the Wirecutter was designed to be challenging and rewarding with none of the BS news or PR based busy-work of typical online publications. We don't get lost in pageview generating methods and races to the bottom. We don't do work unless it's called for, helpful, and worthwhile. And we acknowledge all existing good data out there so your reporting and editing is all about contributing to the world's body of knowledge. We don't want to waste your time, the time of readers or our own time in creating anything less than the best work that we can do. The Wirecutter's culture is built around a no-drama policy and of respect and equal opportunity and high levels of collaboration. We also like to take big breaks in the middle of the day to exercise and eat properly.

The Wirecutter is a 100% remote organization and as such applicants should feel comfortable (and preferably have a good deal of experience) with this arrangement. You should feel comfortable conducting a majority of your correspondence with the team over the phone, team chat, IM and video calls.

Send your cover letter, clips (URLs) and resume (PDF) to the email address below with the name of the role you are applying for in the subject line. I greatly appreciate your enthusiasm for what we do, and your desire to contribute to our work, but I ask that you do not apply if you do not meet the job requirements because that would be a waste of your time and ours and time is all any of us have.

Thank you!
